As Coupeville High School’s Class of 2014 make their way into the world, there are a few things graduating seniors should keep in mind.

It’s still OK to make mistakes and ask questions.

While there’s all this hoopla about becoming an adult and having new-found responsibility, most graduating seniors will be going on to some kind of further education.

College is the in-between point of childhood and adulthood.

College is the training wheels into adulthood.

And now’s the time to really explore who you want to be and how you want to do that.

Now’s the time to experiment and branch out. And by experiment, we don’t mean anything illegal or dangerous!

Use your general education credits to take classes you wouldn’t normally take. Register for that random class that may not have anything to do with your intended major. You may just find some of that knowledge sticks with you throughout your life.

It’s OK to not know what you want to major in right away. And if you start college with one specific intention, it’s OK to change your mind.

This is the time you’ll learn not to wash that pair of red socks with all your white laundry. It’s when you’ll learn the meaning of pulling an all-nighter.

College is when you’ll figure out what kind of people you want to have in your life, if you haven’t learned that all ready.

The people you choose to spend time with help mold the person you will become.

So as these graduating seniors make their way into new adventures, remember there’s still time to figure things out.
