Island County Sheriff’s deputies seize 1.5 pounds of heroin

Deputies found more than $100,000 worth of tar heroin while searching a rural Coupeville home Wednesday. A SWAT team from the Island County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Department of Corrections served a searched warrant on the home off State Highway 20 south of Coupeville.

Deputies found more than $100,000 worth of tar heroin while searching a rural Coupeville home Wednesday.

A SWAT team from the Island County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Department of Corrections served a searched warrant on the home off State Highway 20 south of Coupeville.

The resident, Scott Houston, 28, was taken into custody on a $50,000 arrest warrant from a previous heroin-dealing case, according to the Island County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators searched the home and allegedly recovered 1.5 pounds of heroin, 5 grams of methamphetamine and $4,900 in cash.

Houston is being held without bail on a Department of Corrections detainer and $150,000 bail from the previous heroin case.
