Island County Sheriff: Injured eagle, dead owl and assault by dog toy

The following items were selected from reports made to the Island County Sheriff’s Office:

Monday, April 5

At 8:53 a.m., a caller reported that someone stole two batteries from a work van at Floors Plus on Goldie Road.

Sunday, April 4

At 2:52 a.m., a woman on Shawn Avenue reported that someone hit his son-in-law and refused to let her daughter leave the residence.

At 2:25 p.m., a caller reported that people were driving off-road vehicles on the Navy’s Outlying Field near Coupeville.

At 2:37 p.m., a caller reported that a vacant car with an airbag deployed was in the ditch on E. Sleeper Road. The car was running but nobody was around.

At 4:08 p.m., a Fort Nugent Road resident reported that her mom stole her dog.

Saturday, April 3

At 2:04 p.m., a caller reported hearing gunfire in a woods near West Beach Road.

At 4:34 p.m., a caller from the WAIF animal shelter reported that a woman was harassing the staff and requesting a water sample.

At 4:53 p.m., a Nogaterra Way resident reported that her husband pushed her and she fell against a spike.

At 11:33 a.m., a caller reported that a black Newfoundland dog was running loose on Silver Lake Road.

Wednesday, March 31

At 6:37 a.m., an injured eagle was reported at Ala Spit.

At 1:10 p.m., a dead owl was reported on Fort Casey Road.

At 4:02 p.m., a caller reported that a suspicious man in a van on Balda Road claimed he was a driver for a steakhouse.

At 1:32 p.m., a caller reported that a man was peeping in windows on Madrona Way.

Tuesday, March 30

At 6:30 a.m., an Arnold Road resident reported someone broke into his vehicle overnight.

At 8:08 a.m., four different Donald Avenue residents, and a Stephen Street resident, reported someone broke into their cars overnight.

At 8:10 a.m., a Diane Avenue resident reported that one of the neighbor kids took his “unit,” which is a racing lawnmower.

At 8:17 a.m., a woman reported that a baby car seat fell out of a pickup truck and damaged her vehicle on Highway 20 near Sherman Road.

At 12:48 p.m., a caller reported that someone kicked in a door of a Barrett Road home.

At 7:18 p.m., a Madrona Way resident reported that she had a fight with her father and she threw a dog toy at him. No medical assistance was needed.
