Island County purchasing new election system

Island County will spend $314,700 to buy a new election system from Hart InterCivic of Austin, Texas. Island County commissioners in late December agreed to license Hart’s digital Verity voting system for five years. It had been using an older version of Hart’s system.

Island County will spend $314,700 to buy a new election system from Hart InterCivic of Austin, Texas. Island County commissioners in late December agreed to license Hart’s digital Verity voting system for five years. It had been using an older version of Hart’s system.

The new system will be ready for May’s presidential primary or an April special election if necessary, Hart said in a release.
