Air Force Airman Nathan G. Murphy graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. He is the son of Julie Murphy of Lakewood, Wash., and Gerald Murphy of Oak Harbor.

JASON M. DICKSON has graduated from the Army ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) Leader Development and Assessment Course, also known as “Operation Warrior Forge,” at Fort Lewis, Tacoma.

The 32 days of training provide the best possible professional training and evaluation for all cadets in the aspects of military life, administration and logistical support. Dickson is the son of Terry A. and Petra Dickson of Central Drive, Oak Harbor.

Navy Ensign TRAVIS B. THOMAS, whose wife, Diane, is the daughter of Len and Perry Fernandez of Oak Harbor, reported for Naval Aviator training at Naval Air Station Kingsville, Texas. Thomas is attending a 13-month undergraduate jet pilot training course.

Navy Seaman Apprentice Kendahl K. Peterson, daughter of Dellene M. Dahl of Sedro-Woolley and Ken W. Peterson of Oak Harbor, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
