Let me get this straight: If my neighbor wants to sell out to a shopping mall or put in a junk yard, he can sue the county to let him, no matter what his zoning. Can I then sue the county, too, because his development lowered my property value? And then, since my property and quality of life is ruined, I’ll put in a trailer park or just let my pasture go to thistles, thus lowering the property value of my neighbor on the other side, who will then sue the county . . . etc., etc.
With all the lawsuits, the county will have no money for roads or parks or police or fire department services; and what tourist wants to look at strip malls and subdivisions? Won’t Whidbey Island be in a fine mess then!
Vote no on I-933.
