“Lt. j.g. Doug Crane and his wife Sherry kiss on the tarmac at Whidbey Island Naval Air Station Thursday afternoon, after Crane and other members of VAQ-134 returned from a three month-plus tour of duty at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia. The squadron’s principal job was to fly its EA-6B Prowlers in support of Operation Southern Watch, the policing operation over the no-fly zone of southern Iraq. Whidbey crews flew five-hour missions every day and maintenance personnel put in 12 to 13 hour days. It was a good deployment, said VAQ-134 Cmdr. Tom Tack. “
