Headridge co-authors cheerleading book

Pam Headridge, head cheer coach at Oak Harbor High School and Nancy Garr from Ferndale High School joined forces to author a book designed especially for high school cheerleading coaches.

Pam Headridge, head cheer coach at Oak Harbor High School and Nancy Garr from Ferndale High School joined forces to author a book designed especially for high school cheerleading coaches. The book, called Developing a Successful Cheerleading Program, debuted at the National Cheer Conference in Fayetteville, North Carolina last month. It was published through Coaches Choice, a company that produces sports-related books and videos and covers topics from pre-season checklist to planning the season, safety and stunting, motivating the cheerleaders, working with parents, school spirit ideas and much more.

Brittany Geragotelis, assistant editor for American Cheerleader magazine said, “Developing a Successful Cheerleading Program is a must have for every high school cheer coach.

“It’s a wonderful, insightful book that will prepare any first-time coach for the intricacies of cheerleading”.

Pam Headridge, a 14-year coach, has been honored as National Cheerleading Coach of the Year, National Federation Interscholastic Spirit Association Section Eight Coach of the Year and Washington State Cheerleading Coach of the Year. She is the featured speaker on five education cheerleading videos. Pam is also a widely respected public speaker who travels the country talking on numerous topics concerning cheerleading and coaching. She writes articles for several magazines, too.

Nancy Garr is National Federation of High School Spirit Rules Clinician, as well as head cheer coach at Ferndale High School for the past six years. She is an active member of the Washington State Cheerleading Coaches Association and currently serves as the secretary. Nancy is certified through the Association of American Cheerleading Coaches and Advisors and National Federation of High Schools Coaches Education Program.
