Most readers will never pick up the little nuances of liberalism and the left-wing migration of this newspaper, but some of us have picked up on it and see its true colors. The paper’s latest slip toward left-wing ideology concerns the decision to not accept an advertisement from a citizen wanting to sell a firearm.
I understand the Whidbey News-Times has the right to refuse to advertise something, but it is obvious by this action it is not concerned about our Second Amendment rights or the right of citizen to sell their property, even a firearm.
Although you did put into print your decision to discontinue accepting “firearms for sale†advertisements, you put it in a place where only those who would be looking for firearms would see it. Hidden agenda? I think so.
The Whidbey News-Times should not exclude advertising firearms for sale and it should not use the excuse of protecting readers as a reason for not accepting these advertisements. How are you protecting your readers? What else are you protecting us from? We pay the police to protect us, not the Whidbey News-Times.
The Whidbey News-Times should reflect an unbiased viewpoint and not a left-wing or right-wing agenda. I guess you can afford to lose one more reader.
