Thanks to funding from Oak Harbor Walmart to the Impaired Driving Impact Panel of Island County, local trick-or-treaters will have a better chance to “be safe, be seen on Halloween.”

From noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, free reflective trick-or-treat bags will be available, plus clothing and bike reflectors, stickers, games, puzzles and lots of candy.

“IDIPIC’s mission is to take a community-wide approach to any of the issues that contribute to impaired driving. When our community’s children are out on the streets and sidewalks to celebrate Halloween, we want everyone ‘to be safe and be seen’ on this fun evening,” said IDIPIC Vice President Mike Diamanti.

“For 12 years, IDIPIC has partnered with Walmart by having a table at Walmart’s entrance in order to hand out safety reflective trick or treat bags, costume and bike stickers, and candy and treats. Everyone can be responsible when it comes to driving safely, watching out for our kids, and helping to promote an enjoyable evening,” Diamanti continued.
