Gibbon, others take chilly challenge

Oak Harbor Schools Superintendent Lance Gibbon is among the Whidbey residents to take the plunge with the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge Monday night.

Oak Harbor Schools Superintendent Lance Gibbon is among the Whidbey residents to take the plunge with the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge Monday night.

The challenge was issued by Oak Harbor Chamber of Commerce Director Kathy Reed. Gibbon also did the challenge in honor of his wife’s aunt, Nancy Johnson, who lost her battle with ALS recently at age 59.

Gibbon passed the challenge along to Oak Harbor Mayor Scott Dudley, the superintendent of the Anacortes School District, Mark Wenzel, and the superintendent of the Coupeville School District, James Shank.
