The Whidbey Playhouse and director Rusty Hendrix announce auditions for the musical fantasy, “Peter Pan.”
Children will be auditioning Saturday, Aug. 16, from 1 to 5 p.m. Adults will be auditioning Sunday, Aug. 17, from 7 to 9 p.m.
The following requirements for each auditioner should be followed;
For children: Learn the “Crow Song” which can be checked out from the Playhouse office. Also each child should come dressed in comfortable clothes to learn a simple dance step. No sandals or flip-flops. Come prepared with a one minute monologue memorized.
For adults: Come prepared to learn a simple dance step, no sandals or flip-flops. Also come prepared with a 16 measure song of your choice. Bring your own music, an accompanist will be provided. Also come prepared with a two minute monologue memorized.
There will be cold readings from the script to determine placement in the play. There are roles for 11 children and 10 adults and some roles may be doubled. Parents of children chosen will be asked to devote at least two days of the run to monitoring the Green Room.

The show goes into rehearsal Aug. 19, and we will be rehearsing Sunday through Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. The show will open Nov. 7 and run weekends through Dec. 6.
The Playhouse is also looking for many staff positions, such as props, lighting and sound booth, set building, costuming and back stage help. If you are interested call Hendrix at 675-3809.
