Former longtime Oak Harbor High School principal Sid Parker died Wednesday.

Many high school students sat in “Parker Hall” the lunchroom named in his honor.

Superintendent Lance Gibbon sent all staff an email acknowledging his death.

In the message, he said Parker did not want a public service.

“Sid was very well-loved and respected,” he wrote. “I’m sure you will join me in keeping Sid’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”
