Nobody was injured in a minor car fire in Oak Harbor Wednesday morning.

The car caught fire due to a broken fuel line, which sprayed gas onto the exhaust manifold, according to Oak Harbor Fire Department Chief Ray Merrill.

The fire department received the call at 10:09 a.m., and arrived at the 7-Eleven off of State Highway 20 just two minutes later to get to work putting the fire out.

Merrill said “quick action by the owner” and the firefighters meant the fire was extinguished quickly.

“The car is definitely repairable,” Merrill said.

There was only minor damage to the engine and the hood of the car.
