Where are the comments in the paper by the 250 or more employees of Nichols Brothers shipyard and where are the comments of those of us who believe Mr. Nichols when he says he will expand in such a way as to be a good neighbor and keep South Whidbey as a good place to work and live.

A permanent launch site makes much more sense than temporary ones that constantly disturb sea life as we all know once something is in place permanently the sea life make it a part of there environment. Why do you think they sink old ships but to encourage a habitat for undersea creatures?

Let’s look at this positively and stop letting a handful of dissenters have the voice in the operation. In today’s world of shipbuilding as in other businesses you either go forward or backward. Do we want to see it go backward and lose this vital work source for our island? Not only is it a good work place but a great tourist attraction that helps other businesses which depend on tourist trade.
