My name is Matt Williams and I am a junior at Oak Harbor High School. Your business has recently started a fundraiser to put money toward a new stadium. I as well as many other students in the high school, however, feel that the money should be going to the high school, rather than the stadium. The high school is not only more important of the two, but also the more expensive.
The rebuilding of the high school is more expensive. Why aren’t the profits of this fundraiser going toward reducing the higher of the two costs? Taxpayers are going to be more willing to pass the high school if the price they are going to have to pay is reduced. Why would we put money toward a less expensive and less beneficial project?
The stadium will only benefit those in physical education classes and school sports. This doesn’t solve the problem of the hallways being crowded and the classroom being overpopulated. So, why put money into a less beneficial cause. The students are not as willing to participate in this fundraiser because the funds are not going where they would like to see them go, into the high school.
I hope that you take my opinion to change the direction of this fundraiser into consideration. If I don’t make a change, at least the residents and taxpayers of Oak Harbor will be aware of the facts that are presented in this letter.
