Once again, George Pardington (Letters, Sept. 28) has managed to sling mud on a very prestigious Fil-Am Association and Belen Trost for her honest well-intentions.

Pardington not only distorted the fact about the financial situation of the Fil-Am. He deliberately forgot to mention he was a big part of the reason why the Fil-Am was in such a financial shambles nine months ago. He also did not mention that Judith Zapanta-Borras is a real estate agent who received a commission on the sale of the Fil-Am property.

Pardington and Borras mismanaged the Fil-Am Association during their term. To set the record straight, the present administration did several fund-raising events to settle several unpaid bills they left.

Yes, Borras got the food trailer for the Fil-Am with the promise that she will not take a penny from the organization to pay it off. Instead, the Fil-Am was forced to sell the land to pay for it.

The Borras/Pardington acquisition of the food trailer without proper planning almost broke the Fil-Am apart but the present administration under the leadership of Nida Paggao, the board of directors and the membership have turned it around.

Borras will be acknowledged in her contribution to the community in due time but not at the expense of destroying the dignity of another person and the Fil-Am Association.

What it boils down to is Pardington’s bad case of sour grapes.
