The Washington State Department of Agriculture is holding a special “listening session” Thursday in Oak Harbor for all agriculturalists in Island County.
Representatives from the department will be at the Whidbey Campus of Skagit Valley College, Oak Hall Room 306, June 5 from 9 a.m. to noon.
“This special session gives farms, nurseries, ranches and fisheries affected by WSDA policy and programs the opportunity to reshape the agency’s next 20-year vision and directives,” said Olivia Forte-Gardner, Agriculture Sustainability and Land Stewardship Program Coordinator for Island County WSU Extension.
Small and non-commercial farms are encouraged to participate. RSVP is not required but appreciated. Latecomers welcome. Call 678-7992 or e-mail forte@wsu.edu.
