Election 2004: Sign tampering a sign of lost ethics

Recently I allowed Gina Bull to place two of her campaign signs in my driveway on Highway 20. I allowed her to do so for two reasons. One is that I like her stand on individual rights, and two, it is a darn good location.

Everyday, I feel our individual rights are being threatened, although until now, mine never seemed to be in danger. At least until lately! Twice, these signs have been removed. This is not only against the law, but it is denying me my right to vote for whom I choose.

If Ms. Bull’s opponent and/or supporters think this will get them more votes, they are wrong, because it will only encourage me to campaign for Gina Bull harder, because now I am protecting my individual rights. It is against the law to take these signs. It is tampering with an election and brings serious charges.

My first step will be to turn my walkway surveillance camera towards the road, and my second step will be to prosecute fully as soon as I get a good picture if there is a third time. If this is just over-zealous campaigners, then I think it is time for an ethics lecture at the next local meeting the opponents hold for supporters
