I would like to voice my total agreement with John Q. Adams of Oak Harbor concerning his appraisal of California’s Prop 13.

As a former resident of Orange County, Calif. (32 years), I am familiar with many fixed income families who are able to stay in their own homes due to Prop. 13. Unfortunately I have never heard of a politician who didn’t want to spend more money and they always seem to find a way to get it from us regardless of whether or not we can afford it.

Prop. 13 was California’s way of saying enough! It is working there and the voters of that state have resisted every attempt to repeal it. Washington has followed California’s lead in doing a lot of things wrong. I would like to see us follow their lead in the one thing that they did right.
