The Coupeville Marshal’s Office responded to the following calls:
Monday, Dec. 15
1:42 p.m., a caller wanted information about hunting laws.
2:15 p.m., a caller at the Coupeville Wharf reported that someone had tied up a dead seagull onto the pier. The caller was concerned children may see it.
3:11 p.m., the Marshal’s Office responded to a silent hold up alarm at a South Main Street business.
8:28 p.m., a patient at Whidbey General Hospital requested the police, saying he was being held hostage. He was not armed or being violent at the time.
Tuesday, Dec. 16
3:01 p.m., a caller reported kids were fighting in the open field at Terry and South Ebey roads.
7:07 p.m., a caller at Whidbey General Hospital reported that there was a patient in the ER who wouldn’t do a blood test. The hospital requested law enforcement for a breathalyzer test.
Wednesday, Dec. 17
3:29 p.m., a caller at Whidbey General Hospital reported that there was a woman in the waiting room area that had been there since 5 p.m. yesterday. There was no medical issue. They had gotten her two rides, and she had refused them.
Thursday, Dec. 18
3:01 p.m., a caller was advising that there was a subject in the juvenile detention lobby to be turned in on warrant. The subject was not being a problem.
4:11 p.m., a caller said he used to date a woman and believed law enforcement was looking for the woman’s son. The caller believed the son was staying with his mother.
Friday, Dec. 19
1:57 p.m., a caller reported that someone had been missing for 1.5 hours. The caller was advised by Island Transit that they person may not have gotten on the Clinton ferry. The person would not have had any money to get back.
2:22 p.m., the Marshal’s Office responded to a medical alert activation at Northwest Broadway Street. There was no voice contact.
2:35 p.m., the Marshal’s Office responded a two-car non-injury accident at North Main Street and Northeast Ninth Street.
Saturday, Dec. 20
3:09 p.m., the Marshal’s Office responded to a call from Careage of Whidbey saying a resident’s behavior was causing her to be a danger to herself and others. The patient punched another patient and the staff.
Sunday, Dec. 21
1:21 a.m., a caller at South Main Street reported that his friend had just broken the window to his hotel room and is suicidal. A woman was trying to climb in the window and was currently leaning in the window.
9:45 a.m., a caller at Northeast Kinney Street reported that he has “serious questions.” He had not been living with any parents for a year but was now with his father for Christmas break. He said that his friends think he is going to harm himself and told him they would call the police. He had arguments with his parents when they were splitting up.
12:29 p.m., a caller at Northwest Front Street requested patrol checks at her location during her absence.
Monday, Dec. 22
2:48 p.m., a caller at Northeast Ninth and Northeast Leach streets requested contact at her residence in reference to an ongoing problem with a loose chow that had charged and chased her and her little dog several times.
4:07 p.m., a caller at Northeast Haller Street requested a vacation check from Dec. 30 to March 1. She requested a phone call to make sure they had gotten her request.
Tuesday, Dec. 23
10:42 a.m., the Marshal’s Office responded to an audible burglar alarm at Heritage Bank. They called inside and spoke with a woman who was supposed to be getting a manager. No one came to the phone.
10:47 a.m., a caller at South Main Street requested a check for a mentally ill roommate. The caller was in the living room and said the roommate was locked in her room and wouldn’t come out. There was also an axe because the room is also a storage room.
6:09 p.m., the Marshall’s Office responded to a call saying a vehicle was last seen turning Northbound on Main Street in a red mini. They were going varying speeds, had a turn signal on when there was no place to turn, slowed down all the way at a green light and was last seen toward the hospital, turning on a red light.
