Coupeville seniors Larson, Tucker voted Cascade League first team

Smith, Williams and Hughes on second team

Coupeville senior Casey Larson was voted a first-team Cascade League all-star football player at linebacker and senior Trevor Tucker was named a first-team all-league wide receiver.

Larson led the Wolves in solo tackles and Tucker accounted for nearly 400 all-purpose yards on offense this season.

Junior quarterback James Smith was named a second-team all-star and senior Matt Williams was voted a second-team offensive lineman.

Junior Clay Hughes rounded out Coupeville’s all-star selections being voted to the second team as a defensive back. Coupeville finished the regular season with a 4-5 record and reached the first round of the Class 1A playoffs as the Cascade League’s number-two seed.

Coupeville lost 12-7 to Friday Harbor in the opening playoff game and ended the year at 4-6.

In volleyball, senior Corrine Gaddis was voted a second-team Cascade League all-star.

The Coupeville volleyball team had a tough time in its first season as a member of the Cascade League after having won several league championships along with trips to the state tournament playing in the Northwest League.

In 2006, the Wolves finished with a 4-10 league record.

The Wolves lost to Meridian in the opening round of the Class 1A crossover tournament and finished the season with a 5-12 overall record.
