Coupeville runners qualify for tri-district finals | Track

The Wolves also qualified in all three girls relays.

The top eight in the preliminaries in each running event moved on.

The finals of the 25-team tri-district begin at 11 a.m. Saturday. The first six in each event earn state berths.

State is Friday and Saturday, May 24 and 25, at Eastern Washington University in Cheney.

Tisa-McPhee captured spots in the hurdle finals, finishing second in the 100 hurdles (16.51) and fourth in the 300 hurdles (49.03).

Campbell was seventh (11.84) in the boys 100 and Stone eighth in the girls 200 (27.35).

Stone ran on all three girls relay teams. She joined Jai’Lysa Hoskins, Marisa Etzell and Sylvia Hurlburt to finish second in the 4×100 (51.61); with Tisa-McPhee, Hoskins and Hurlburt to get third in the 4×200 (1:47.83); and with Kirsten Pelroy, Hoskins and Etzell to place eighth in the 4×400 (4:16.4).

Campbell, 13th, triple jump, 35-10.75; Brandon Kelley, 12th, 300 hurdles, 45.59; Rachel Wenzel, 14th, javelin, 88-09; boys 4×100 (Lathom Kelley, Brandon Kelley, Sam Landau, Jared Helmstadter), 10th, 46.62; and boys 4×400 (Lathom Kelley, Matthew Hampton, Landau, Helmstadter), 12th, 3:46.69.
