Coupeville gets ready for Thanksgiving feast

Friends, neighbors, families and visitors are welcome to join the 11th Annual Community Thanksgiving potluck meal Thursday, Nov. 26, at the Coupeville Rec Hall on the corner of Alexander and Coveland.

A traditional spread will be served buffet-style from noon until 2:30, or whenever the food runs out.

Turkey and ham are provided by the organizers, while the rest of the tasty menu is up to those who attend. This is the perfect opportunity to showcase a favorite family recipe or try something new. Sign-up sheets are located at Coupeville Dental Clinic, Mosquito Fleet, the County Deli and Branch Business Services.

The Community Thanksgiving is a smoke-and-alcohol-free event that just gets better every year. Why sit home alone, fix a huge meal for a few or dine out at a restaurant when you can spend the holiday with like-minded folks in a convivial atmosphere, and stuff yourself into the bargain? The community feast is free, fun and friendly. Make it your new tradition.

The gathering is loosely organized by locals, and help is always welcome. To get involved, call Peg and Gordon Burton at 678-1667 or Kathy Griggs at 678-6000.
