The Coupeville High School soccer team scored its first points of the season but came up one goal shy in a 3-2 overtime loss to Cascade Christian Wednesday, March 25, at Mickey Clark Field.

The Coupeville High School soccer team scored its first points of the season but came up one goal shy in a 3-2 overtime loss to Cascade Christian Wednesday, March 25, at Mickey Clark Field.

The Cougars scored with one minute left in overtime to squeak out the win.

Abraham Leyva Elenes tallied both goals for Coupeville and also earned a penalty kick. Unfortunately, he was unable to connect on the PK in the close loss.

“The boys continue to improve,” Coupeville coach Kyle Nelson said. “Our defensive effort and passing game were much better. We continue to work hard in practice and look to get our first victory Saturday against Forks.”

The match with Forks begins at 1 p.m.
