Lifted by a grand slam and a three-run triple by Hailey Hammer, the Coupeville High School softball team concluded conference play with a resounding 20-4 win in six innings over first-place Klahowya Thursday, May 7, in Silverdale.
The Wolves finished third in the Olympic League with a 5-4 record.

With the score tied at 2-2 heading into the third inning, Coupeville rallied for eight runs to begin the rout.
Three walks and singles by Lauren Rose, Tiffany Briscoe, Monica Vidoni, Jae LeVine and a three-run triple by Hammer fueled the inning.
The sixth inning was also a big one for the Wolves, as they scored seven runs.
Hammer’s bases-loaded home run highlighted the uprising.
Rose, Hope Lodell and Robin Cedillo singled and Katrina McGranahan doubled in the inning.
Hits by Rose, McGranahan and Vidoni helped Coupeville score two runs in the first inning.
The Wolves’ three other runs came in the fourth with the help of four walks and a single by Hammer.
Hammer finished the day 3-for-6 for nine RBI.
Rose went 5-for-6, and McGranahan and Vidoni each finished with two hits.
McKayla Bailey walked six times and scored four runs.
McGranahan picked up the pitching win, striking out seven. She received defensive help by Briscoe, who made a nice running catch in left field.
“Everyone hit today and made it on base,” coach Deanna Rafferty said. “It was a great offensive game. I am proud of my girls, they played with grace and sportsmanship.”
