The Coupeville boys basketball team had its season end prematurely with a 55-43 loss at the hands of Cascade Christian last Saturday.

Facing a must-win situation, the Wolves trailed the Puyallup-based Cougars 15-11 after the first period and could never catch up dropping the winner-to-state/loser-out contest at Mountlake Terrace High School.

Coupeville was plagued by foul trouble from the start and was eventually outshot 36-7 at the free-throw line. Chris Good, the Wolves leading scorer on the season, fouled out in the third quarter with 11 points on the evening. Junior swingman Brad Sherman added 11 points on the evening.

The Wolves needed to win just one tri-district contest to move on to the 1A state tournament next week in Yakima after losing to King’s 74-54 in the quarterfinal round last Thursday. Unfortunately for the team it wasn’t to be and they must be satisfied with their Northwest A League title.
