Maxine Sauter has proven her loyalty, honesty and integrity for 16 years as our current treasurer. And most importantly, made excellent investments on behalf of our public funds.

Maxine has turned the department around for the betterment of the county, along with numerous other profit and non-profit businesses on the island and nationally.

I have worked with her in business and with non-profit organizations for many years; and I know for a fact that she is well versed in her elected position. She is also a wonderful mentor to many.

Let the state auditor continue to complain that we do not follow their guidelines to a “T.” Most of us realize that money can be saved in rural communities, in comparison to larger cities and big business organizations, such as the Anderson accounting firm and Enron. What safeguarded their investments?

Sixteen years without a lost penny. Keep up the good work Maxine and staff.
