Hear how life was in the old days at Island County Fair’s Senior Recognition Day Friday, Aug. 16, at 11:30 a.m. at the fairgrounds’ Pole Building in Langley.

Seniors will tell how different life was just a few years ago. Scheduled to appear are Jaice Caffman, John Weber and Ernest Youderian of Coupeville, Sylvia Kuhuski and Frank VandeWerfhorst of Oak Harbor, Marjorie Thornton of Freeland, Lucille Nourse and Jim Grubb of Maxwelton, and Dick Johnson of Langley.

“These folks have some wonderful anecdotes to tell us of their areas and lives on the island,” said Dorothy Burke, program chairperson. The presentation will include music from Danny Ward and Kira Kinney. This year’s fair runs from Aug. 15 through 18.
