Local member and expert birder Bob Merrick will describe shorebird surveys he has been conducting at Crockett Lake for the past six years when Whidbey Audubon gathers Thursday, Feb. 13. Meet at 7 p.m. at AuSable Institute, 180 Parker Road, near Highway 20. If the weather’s clear, local astronomy enthusiast Nic Hallet will present a short outdoor lesson in basic astronomy.
