This letter is to Tara Hizon of Oak Harbor in regards to her letter “Older driver gets off easy” (Letters, July 2). 27-years-old and a spotless driving record! Boy, aren’t you a mature woman of the world! Mildred Eisenhower is 94-years-old and this is her first “accident” ever! I hope you can say that at 94! And she didn’t crash into the pet store, she was barely moving and rolled into it. Her insurance will pay for the damages if you must know. Her only other spot on her record is for not signaling when changing lanes.

Mildred Eisenhower has done years of community service and volunteering for her Methodist Church in Coupeville. Can you say that? How much volunteering have you done? Mildred Eisenhower is a good driver. I have ridden with her many times.

You are only 27 years old. I hope when you grow up, you will not be so judgmental and learn a little compassion. I’m glad you are still so perfect, but it won’t last lady. You’ll stumble too someday and I hope you are shown more compassion than you have shown Mildred Eisenhower.
