Clinton ferry service resumes following morning closure

The Clinton-to-Mukilteo ferry route is back in action.

Washington State Ferries confirmed repairs to the Mukilteo Terminal are complete and that service resumed with the noon sailing.

“Maintenance crews at the Mukilteo terminal have completed the repairs to the loading dock,” the agency reported in an emailed travel alert. “Service is restored to the route with the 12:00pm departure from Clinton to Mukilteo. Two boat service will return with the 12:30pm departures from both terminals.”

Earlier this morning the terminal was damaged by a box truck. Officials reported that the vehicle struck the control panel that operates the car ramp, crippling service on the run. The closure came at a particularly inconvenient time as the Coupeville-to-Port Townsend route is also closed for planned terminal maintenance.
