Cheryl S. Beaumont died at her home in Oak Harbor on July 11, 2006 at the age of 61. She was born to Roland and June (Kemper) Schessler in Lincoln, Nebraska on Dec. 23, 1944. She was married to Rodger Beaumont on Jan. 20, 1967 in Tucson, Arizona.
Cheryl was a Medical Technologist, spending most of her career at University of California at San Diego, where she specialized in Gastro-Intestinal Research and Procedures. She was well known in the San Diego medical community for the specialized procedures.
Cheryl retired in May of 2004 and moved to Oak Harbor. She volunteered at the Oak Harbor Elks Lodge, Whidbey Animal Improvement Foundation (WAIF) and Whidbey General Hospital.
Cheryl is survived by her husband of 39 years, Rodger Beaumont; by two daughters, Stephani Hurrle of Chandler, Arizona and Tammi Hook of Mesa, Arizona, her mother and father, June and Rollie Schessler of Lincoln, Nebraska, by four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She loved her last two years in Oak Harbor, living near the water. She had many friends in Oak Harbor.
Cheryl requested no formal funeral services be conducted. Cremation was held with private family inurnment. Arrangements were entrusted to Burley Funeral Chapel, Oak Harbor.
