The Central/South Whidbey Little League 9/10 softball team is heading to state.
Central/South Whidbey won its third straight lopsided game, beating South Skagit 16-6 Tuesday, July 1, in Langley, to claim the District 11 championship.
Now it off to Asotin for the state tournament, which begins July 12.
“There were many stars” in the win over South Skagit, coach Lark Gustafson said.
Kaia Richmond scored four runs, Audrianna Shaw added three more and Thora Iverson tallied the final run to polish off South Skagit.
Chelsea Prescott pitched a five-inning complete game.
