The times were slower but the overall result was good as the Oak Harbor High School swim team got by Mount Vernon 97-73 Thursday, Oct. 3, at the Mount Vernon YMCA.

Coach Alex Thierry said, “For us, our swims were slower.  We won this meet with our depth. We are not a super deep team, but we are seeing some of the girls really step up.  It is really great to see that as we head into the last half of the season.”

Marissa Morris and Mollie Briddell each won two individual events and a relay.

Morris took the 200-yard free (2:13.06) and the 500 free (5:57.15), while Briddell won the 100 free (1:02.48) and 100 backstroke (1:07.12).

The pair teamed with Nicole Vogt and Mariel Empinado to win the 400-free relay (4:27.15).
