The editorial carton concerning Dr. Hu and Whidbey General Hospital of Wednesday, June 21 overstepped the bounds of humor and bordered on racism. Not only did it display the tasteless disregard by the artist, but the lack of integrity of the editor for printing it was even more in evidence. The results are a loss of respect for the judgment of both parties involved. With many citizens of Asian heritage in this part of the USA, the cartoon is especially demeaning.
