Friends and family of Keaton Farris are holding a candlelight vigil tonight outside the Island County Jail in Coupeville to mark the six-month anniversary of the young man’s death.

A group of people with signs have been at the site since 3 p.m. Coupeville resident Fred Farris, Keaton’s father, said they will light candles around 6 p.m.

Keaton Farris was 25 years old when he died from dehydration in the jail April 7. His death sparked rallies and an ongoing protest against the jail.

“Wear a Keaton shirt if you have one, and bring a candle if you will be there at sunset so we can have a candlelight vigil in honor of his life. Feel free to come for the entire time or whatever your schedule allows. We’d love to see any and all of you there,” the Keaton H2O Facebook states.
