Burley Funeral Chapel sponsors program on grief and recovery

'Together ... we remember' is set for Nov. 6

Linda Haddon will be the key speaker at “Together … We Remember.” Haddon is the president of The Care Foundation whose mission is to promote personal growth and a healthy recovery to grieving people and families who have experienced a loss through death. Haddon also founded the founder of the Widowed Information and Consultation Services (WICS) of Island County and Skagit Widowed Services. Haddon was young when she was widowed in 1982 and has experienced grief and recovery.

“Together … We Remember” will be held Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. at Oak Harbor Elks Lodge, 155 NE Ernst Street. Burley Funeral Chapel is sponsoring the program. This evening is open to anyone who has experienced the death of a loved one and for those people who are experiencing troubled times in the aftermath of Sept. 11. The evening is a time for thanksgiving and remembering in tribute those people we have loved. Wanting to remember because you love is more of a sign of healing than trying to forget because you hurt.

Burley Funeral Chapel acknowledge and recognizes the deep sorrow that families and loved ones bear with the death of someone they love. The holiday season seems to heighten awareness of loss.

“Together … We remember” is a time to join together and remember a love that will never be forgotten and to reflect on the joys that our loved ones have brought to us and embrace a love that remains.
