Oak Harbor freshman Haven Brown finished fourth overall and the Wildcats also finished fourth as a team at the Wesco North boys match at Everett’s Legion Memorial Golf Course Thursday, April 28.
Brown shot a two-over 74, five shots behind medalist Quinton Borseth of Stanwood.
Arlington won the team competition with a score of 401. Stanwood shot 404, Marysville-Pilchuck 427, Oak Harbor 457 and Marysville Getchell 479. Everett didn’t qualify for a team score.
Wildcat Caleb Brookshier posted a 89, Nick Whitley 94, Rheeno Kwak 95, Ryan Evans 105 and Josh Margraf 110.
“Everyone did very well today,” coach David Smith said. “Haven played very steady all day. Caleb and Nick both played good. Nick just needed to play better on a few holes and his scores would have been even better. Rheeno had one of his lowest tournament scores. Overall, I was very happy with how the team played.”
The final Wesco North regular season match is at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 5, at Marysville’s Cedarcrest Golf Course.
The North Divisional Championship match is May 10 at the Kayak Point Golf Course.
The district tournament is May 16 and 17 at the Snohomish Golf Course, and three Wildcats (Brown, Brookshier and Whitley) have qualified. A fourth, Kwak, is on the cut line.
Brown also qualified for the Egbers Invitational Friday, May 6, at the Skagit Golf Club.
