Cameron Boyd was the right man in the right spot for the Coupeville High School soccer team as the Wolves eked out a 1-0 win at Sultan Friday, April 25.
When the Turk goalie bobbled Sean Donley’s free kick, Boyd picked up the loose ball and netted the game-winner.
The Coupeville defense “played well,” said coach Kyle Nelson, limiting Sultan (2-8-1, 2-9-2) to only a few shots.
Keeper Joel Walstad earned the shutout for Coupeville.
The win snapped a five-match winless streak for the Wolves (4-7, 5-7-1), who play first-place Archbishop Murphy (9-2, 10-2-1) at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, at Mickey Clark Field.
