Big Brothers Big Sisters of Island County awarded two donated Southwest Airline tickets to the raffle winner, JAN ALGER, of Oak Harbor. BBBSIC board members all took an active role in this fundraiser, selling tickets at their places of work and within the community. The raffle fundraiser lasted for the month of July.
“I was so excited to win the tickets. I plan to take my family on a trip out east,” said Jan Alger in a release.
Southwest Airlines is proud to support charitable organizations in each of the communities they serve. Thanks to the volunteer hours provided by current Big Brother and board member, Steve Kelly, Southwest Airlines donated two roundtrip tickets in their appreciation. Each ticket is valued at $400. Each raffle ticket was sold for $5. BBBSIC board members and staff successfully sold 386 raffle tickets, totaling $1,930 in profit.
The funds raised during this raffle will go toward efforts in BBBSIC mentoring programs which directly enrich the lives of youth in the local community. For details, visit bbbsislandcounty.org.
