After a scoreless first half, Bellingham bunched together three goals in a 15-minute span to dump the Oak Harbor High School soccer team in the season opener at Northwest Fields Tuesday, March 12.

The Raiders turned out to be the better mudders.

Oak Harbor coach Brian Thompson said,  “The fields were under water so it became a game of who could stand up the best in mud. We will get a better idea of where we stand next Tuesday when we play Marysville Getchell at home.”

Bellingham’s Brad Dale, off an assist from Conlon Kiffney, scored in the 45th minute. Seven minutes later they reversed rolls for another goal. In the 60th minute, Kiffney picked up another assist, this time serving Noe Betancourt-Cruz.

The Wildcats (0-1) begin conference and home play with the Getchell match at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 19.
