In loving memory. Arthur E. Janacek was born Jan. 18, 1921 in Seattle, He passed away at Harborview Hospital in Seattle on June 14, 2005 at the age of 84.
He is survived by wife, Frances; son, Jerry Janacek of Edmonds; daughter, Susan Server of Belfair; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Vivian LaJambe of Richmond Beach. He was married to Frances over 63 years. He was preceded in death by brothers Laddie (WWII), and Eugene Janacek in 2004.
He was enlisted in the Army Air Force as a P-38 fighter pilot. Dad and Mom owned the Lynnwood Nursery in Lynnwood, and he was a successful business owner. He retired at age 52 and enjoyed 32 years of hunting, fishing, traveling, wine making, and gardening on Whidbey Island. They enjoyed their home in Honolulu, Hawaii every winter.
A Committal service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, at Edmonds Memorial Cemetery, 820 – 15th Way SW, Edmonds. There will be a private family gathering afterwards.
