  • RED ROOSTER ANTIQUE MALL will display the works of acrylic artist Kathleen Torrey from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 27-29. Torrey specializes in wildlife and florals. Refreshments will be served.
  • Beth Johns is the featured artist at OAK HARBOR CITY HALL for November and December. Johns earned a degree in studio art from Duke University, where she focused on print-making, oil painting and photography. She finds inspiration in the island and its waters. She believes the artistic process is important for wellbeing and enjoys sharing her artistic vision with others through her photographs. She began taking the details in her pictures and repeating them to create patterns. The repetition and rhythm present in the new image accentuate its emotive quality, while creating another layer of perception.

Drop by the gallery to meet Rees, a watercolor painter whose works capture natural scenes in transluscent detail. She combines watercolor, wax pastels, gouache and ink to present her subjects in joyful and lively ways. www.lisbethcort.com
  • ARTWORKS GALLERY featured artists for November are Marcia Muchnick and Barbara Marks. Muchnick gets her inspiration from the earth’s natural elements, and the pottery that evolves tends to have a rustic look. There is an old world charm that makes each a piece of artwork as well as being completely functional. Born in Minneapolis and educated in England, Barbara began her art career in Jackson Hole Wyoming. Family life took her to Bahrain in the Middle East and ultimately back to the Great Pacific Northwest where she works out of her studio on beautiful Whidbey Island. Her extensive travels have influenced the imagery and colorful vibrancy of her art. For more information, visit artworkswhidbey.com or call 360-222-3010.
  • UUCWI GALLERY OF ART will present “Color and Lines” for the months of November and December. The calligraphy of Mary McLeod and the stained glass work of Mary Goolsby and Judi Nyerges will be on display in the foyer gallery at UUCWI. McLeod brings calligraphy into the 21st century through the use of pastels, paste paper, watercolors, embossing, colorful gouaches and fabric, while staying true to the original letter forms. Nyerges and Goolsby, currently best known for their work in other media, give us a peek into another ‘era’ of their lives as artists. An opening reception will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 15.
  • William Ferry will attend GARRY OAK GALLERY from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Nov. 22 and 23.
