The nation’s largest veterans organization has teamed up with Dairy Queen for a nation-wide show of patriotism and gratitude for our nation’s military and veterans.

The nation’s largest veterans organization has teamed up with Dairy Queen for a nation-wide show of patriotism and gratitude for our nation’s military and veterans.

Saturday, July 6, members of the American Legion family, active-duty, national guard and reserve military personnel and veterans will receive a free five-ounce sundae, if they show proper membership or identification cards. Dairy Queen stores are partnering with the American Legion family and the Children’s Miracle Network to honor our troops fighting the war on terrorism, our veterans who fought past wars for America, while also raising $1 million for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals.

The American Legion is a proud member of the Red, White and Blue Campaign-sponsored-trio. Military day will honor our veterans and military personnel as they enjoy a free sundae from Dairy Queen.

Best of all, DQ is donating a portion of any purchase of their all new red, white and blue All-American Blizzard during the month of July to children’s hospitals across the nation.

Since World War I, the American Legion has worked to increase the quality of life for all children and youth. Children’s Miracle Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping kids by raising funds and awareness for 170 children’s hospitals throughout North America. The Dairy Queen system has been a national sponsor of CMN since 1984, and since then has raised more than $44 million. The American Legion has been a national CMN sponsor since 1998, and has raised more than $3 for the network.

Many DQs will feature military and veterans booths and displays as a part of the July 6 festivities. The Red, White and Blue promotion will run June 29 – July 31.

The Oak Harbor Dairy Queen is a proud sponsor of this event, and owner Glen Groenig invites all eligible members to visit his DQ for this special event. The DQ is located at 1248 SW Barlow St., Oak Harbor.
