The manager of a car dealership on Goldie Road had $9,000 worth of methamphetamine in his office safe, according to the Island County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies with the Sheriff’s Office executed a narcotics search warrant at O&J Auto on Goldie Road Thursday afternoon. The raid came after a lengthy joint investigation involving the Sheriff’s Office, the Oak Harbor Police Department and Naval Criminal Investigative Service.

Sheriff’s Detective Ed Wallace said deputies found 94 grams of meth, along with other drug paraphernalia, inside the office safe. They arrested the manager, 41-year-old Nolan Brown of Oak Harbor, on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Wallace said detectives are investigating whether Brown had traded vehicles for drugs.

“If the car business and drug business were interlocked, we will attempt to seize the assets of the business,” Wallace said.
