1st-team honors go to Hesselgrave | Boys basketball

Wiley Hesselgrave, a junior on the Coupeville High School boys basketball team, was named to the first-team, all-Olympic League team for the 2014-15 season.

Wiley Hesselgrave, a junior on the Coupeville High School boys basketball team, was named to the first-team, all-Olympic League team for the 2014-15 season.

Hesselgrave finished third in the voting for the conference’s Most Valuable Player, according to coach Anthony Smith. Chimacum’s Orien Weller was named the league MVP.

Hesselgrave was also one of 11 Wolves to receive varsity letters this season.

Others were seniors Aaron Curtin, Matt Shank, Aaron Trumbull, Isaac Vargas and Joel Walstad; juniors C.J. Smith, Jared Helmstadter, Risen Johnson and Ryan Griggs; and sophomore Gabe Wynn.

Curtin received the team’s Mr. Hustle Award and was named to the Olympic League honorable mention list.

Others receiving honorable mention were Trumbull, Walstad, C.J. Smith, Johnson, Wynn and Griggs, according to coach Smith.
