The show will be auditioning Monday and Tuesday, June 15 to 16, at 7 p.m. and will be in rehearsal until opening Sept. 5. The show will run weekends in September, closing Oct. 3.

Auditioners need to be there both days for the entire audition and will need to have a 16-measure comedic song memorized, a two-minute monologue and be able to do cold readings. There are parts for four men ages 25 to 50, and three women ages 25 to 35. All parts are vocal, the delivery boy must be able to do a solo tap dance. Zombina must be able to hit a D above high C and be buxom.

This new musical manages to spoof everything that characterized the old 1950’s science-fiction B-movies, from cheesy spaceships to cheap weaponry and utter conviction in the infallibility of the United States.

A news release describes the production as, “A splendid surprise! This crazy satire is absolutely enchanting. The script is deliciously silly, while the music and lyrics are sveltely appropriate to subject matter and treatment. The music ranges from Doris Day/Perry Como style romanticism, to Neolithic rock and dewy doo-wop.”
