An outdoor market specifically for antiques will be popping up along Pioneer Way in downtown Oak Harbor this Saturday.

By the Harbor Vintage Market is taking place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 13.

Along with 21 antique and vintage vendors, the Whidbey Island Pirates, Whidbey Island Sirens, the Magnificent Crab Queens and the Whidbey Island Roller Derby will be in attendance

There will be some vintage cars from Whidbey Cruzers on display and live music.

At the Pop Up Plaza, Kick Brass will be performing from 11 a.m. to noon, and Maria Jackson will play from 2:30-3:30 p.m.

From 2-3 p.m. the Shifty Sailors will be singing up and down the street, and Terry and Juliana will be playing guitar and whistling from 3-4 p.m.

This is the second year Oak Harbor Main Street Association and Dina’s Great Find has hosted the event

Dina Koehn, owner of Dina’s Great Finds, originally had the idea for an antique market. She said she wanted more people to have an opportunity to sell their antiques instead of just consigning them through her shop. There’s an environmental aspect to it as well.

“I strongly believe in recycling and repurposing and trying to be a little more earth friendly,” Koehn said.

Pioneer Way will be closed from Ely Street to Ilwaco Alley during the event.
