    Volunteers survey residents about water quality issues

    A group of people working to protect Puget Sound wants Whidbey residents to fill out a short online survey by Sunday, Oct. 22.

    “Enjoying clean water is critical to our island way of life, and we’d like to understand more about what people know about water quality issues and how to better provide information to people who love our island,” said Robin Clark of the Whidbey Education, Communication and Outreach Network.

    Goosefoot, Bayview Farm and Garden, and the Bayview Farmers Market host Apple Day at historic Bayview Corner from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, featuring the annual Mutt Strut dog parade and costume contest.

    Get your costumes ready! The fifth annual Halloween Torchlight parade is set for Saturday, Oct. 27.

    “It’s a safe way to celebrate the holiday,” said Coupeville Historic Waterfront Association Executive Director Vickie Chambers, who will be dressed as Marge Simpson as she greets the crowd at the end of the parade route by the foot of the Coupeville Wharf.
